FUNDING FOR SUPPORT
York Personal Support are registered with the local authority and the NHS to provide support at home.
Adults of all ages can ask their local authority for a care needs assessment.
This will help you to work out what support you may need to stay independent at home for longer. Your PA, GP, or district nurse can make a referral for an assessment on your behalf with your permission.
If the care needs assessment identifies that you require support, a financial assessment will then take place to establish how much customer contribution you may need to make towards your care costs.
Alternatively, customers may choose to fund their support themselves.
The following sources of funding are also available:
Local Authority Personal Budgets may be available for people who have been assessed as needing personal support from social services and would prefer to arrange and pay for this themselves. Personal Budgets may be used to fund the services of York Personal Support who will provide a Personal Assistant to support you with all aspects of personal care and other tasks such as shopping, cooking, housework and accessing social activities.
